THEReview Citizenshipis a non-governmental, non-profit, non-partisan organization, constituted with the objective of welcoming people seeking refuge in Brazil, providing humanitarian aid and defending their rights.
We operate in the region of Indaiatuba, Salto and Campinas with resources from donations and partnerships.
In practice, we provide support and guidance for the regularization of the documents necessary for the recognition of the Refugee in Brazil, Portuguese classes, guidance for professional placement, support with food baskets and clothes.
Refugeesthey are people who are outside their countries, fleeing political, racial or religious persecution. Most of the time, they arrive in a foreign country, they do not know its language, its customs and need shelter, guidance, housing and employment.
Brazil receives refugees and the Law nº 9.474/97, known as the Refuge Law, provides for the assurance that the authorities cannot expel or extradite the foreigner back to the country where he claims to be persecuted.
Unfortunately, despite the Federal, State and Municipal Governments providing resources and public policies for refugees, they are not enough. It is for this reason that civil society is mobilized and carries out actions to welcome and socially and economically integrate people and families in situations of great vulnerability.
Our story
Rever Cidadania was founded by Pastor João Hamilton in 2015 and started its activities with Portuguese classes for foreigners. Classes were held on Saturdays at the Central Baptist Church of Indaiatuba and later, with the growth in the number of students, at the Associação de Amigos de Bairro XII de Junho. In October 2018 it became officially a non-profit, non-partisan and secular civil association.
Activities were also expanded. Today we serve 93 families and, in addition to Portuguese classes, we help with the regularization of documents, looking for a job, donating clothes and food.
Our missionis to welcome refugees in the cities of Indaiatuba, Salto and Campinas and offer conditions for them to recognize in this community a safe place to reestablish their citizenship, prosper andREWRITE YOUR LIFE STORY.
